Faith, Words to Walk By

Faith

  • What seems impossible is not impossible when we add in the faith factor. “No chance at all…by yourself. Every chance in the world if you let God do it” (Mk. 10:27 The Message).
  • If you believe the effort is worth it, you will make it. “You can never please God without faith. Live by faith” (Heb. 11:6 LB).
  • Winners refuse to believe they have to lose. “Blessed is he who does not lose his faith in me” (Lk. 7:23 LB).
  • Faith is emboldened when we remember past blessings. “Moses said, ‘Always remember this day’” (Ex. 13:13 The Message).
  • Plan not on what you see today but on what you see by faith! “The wise man looks ahead” (Prov. 14:8 LB).
  • Your faith must look upward to find its resting place! “Since we have been justified through faith we have peace” (Rm. 5:1 NIV).
  • Daily experiences help us measure our faith. “God’s Son…had to learn from experience what it was like” (Heb. 5:8 TLB).
  • God wants you to reach up higher and out wider into the realm of faith! “It’s impossible to please God apart from faith.” (Heb. 11:6 The Message).
  • The origin of faith is God’s Word! Read it and live! “Faith comes by hearing the message…the word of Christ” (Rom. 10:17 NIV).
  • Faith and a good idea will result in fruitfulness! “It is impossible to please God apart from faith” (Heb. 11:6 The Message).
  • God allows some life challenges to stretch your faith! “He said this to stretch Philip’s faith” (Jn. 6:6 The Message).
  • Human reasoning leaving you short? Try a leap of faith! “God can do anything..far more than you can imagine” (Eph. 3:20 The Message).
  • Try a little mountain moving faith in your life today! “Don’t doubt God, you’ll…triumph over huge obstacles” (Matt. 21:21 The Message).
  • You will not score in life unless you believe you can! “It is impossible to please God apart from faith” (Heb. 11:6 The Message).
  • God’s previous blessing prompts present faith! “The Lord who rescued me…will rescue me from this!” (1 Sam. 17:37 NLT).
  • Nothing comes to you without faith!“in the morning I lay my requests…and wait expectantly” (Ps. 5:3 NIV).
  • Life is intended to be a faith experience not a fearful experience. “Fear is crippling” (1 Jn. 4:18 The Message).
  • Faith that works waits willingly! “We hope for what we do not see, we … wait … with patience” (Rom. 8:25 HCSB).
  • God falls walls in response to faith! “By faith, … the walls fell flat” (Heb. 11:30 The Message).
  • Grieving is an expression of faith in God! “Trust in him at all times … Pour out your hearts” (Ps. 62:8 NET).
  • Faith wears its working clothes in the waiting rooms of life.“Wait for the Lord, and he will come” (Ps. 27:14 LB).
  • Prayer with faith delivers peace! “If you believe, you will get anything you ask for in prayer” (Matt. 21:22 NCV).
  • The faith factor eliminates the fail factor! “For we live by believing and not by seeing” (2 Cor. 5:7 NLT).
  • Faith is not to be silenced but shared! “Don’t be frightened like that. Go tell” (Matt. 28:10 The Message).
  • Don’t get mired in the quick sand of mediocrity and miss going on higher. God says, “My ways are higher than yours” (Isa. 55:9 NIV).

Fresh Starts

Comments Off on Fresh Starts 31 December 2015

Do you ever wish you could make a fresh start? Jan. 1, 2016 is a great time to make it happen. Most of us allow our circumstances to dictate our responses, and we are not living on purpose. We try to make changes by changing things around us. It is easy to blame others for the failures of the past year. But, the greatest changes come from the inside not the outside of us. Only God can change your heart. The reason so many tragic things happen in this age is that God is being left out of many people’s equations. Without a change in your heart there can be no fresh start. God is a God of forgiveness and fresh starts! He said, “For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Don’t you see it?” (Isa. 43:19 LB). Let God effect a fresh start in your life!

363 – FORGING THROUGH FAILURE!

Comments Off on 363 – FORGING THROUGH FAILURE! 15 August 2014

Failure is a part of life. It is one of those things we encounter along our pathways that is inevitable. We cannot avoid it! If we attempt anything worthy in our lives we will encounter it. Each of us fails at some time in our lives. There are no exceptions. The psalmist said, “Don’t look to men for help; their greatest leaders fail” (Ps. 146:3 LB). I’ve had to work my way through failures throughout my lifetime. I have seen individuals and institutions, even churches, have to work their way through failures and on to success. I’ve also seen some of those give up and give in and become failures instead of forging through it. In fact, one of the key ingredients of success is failure. Namely, how we respond to it. Here I want to challenge each reader, individual or collection of individuals, to decide today to forge through the failure you are struggling with!

361 – The Timeliness of God’s Blessings

Comments Off on 361 – The Timeliness of God’s Blessings 01 August 2014

Do you ever feel that God’s blessings are being delayed? Sometimes we think that we have prayed a long time for something, and it begins to look to the faithless and faltering as if the blessing is never coming. We think we know God’s will about something, and we wait impatiently until the seeming delay causes us to stop asking and then all of a sudden the answer comes – the blessing is received. Let’s talk about the timeliness of God’s blessings because He is never a minute early or a moment late with them. We will look at the story of Jacob and Rachel in the Old Testament for some help understanding this.

355 – Our Great Giver

Comments Off on 355 – Our Great Giver 20 June 2014

Who doesn’t love to receive gifts? From the preschooler who receives a stuffed animal to a child who receives a Sony PS4, Nintendo 3DS, a Nintendo wii u, or an Xbox 1, to a grandmother who receives her grandchild’s hand picked gift just for her, receiving gifts is very special. By the way, I am somewhat knowledgeable of the latest devices, but I checked the list above by my grandson Evans to be sure I knew what I was talking about. Everyone loves to “get” a gift. Behind all of those gifts there must be a willing giver. Every Christian has a Great Giver in our loving heavenly Father. When we think of our needs, we need to remember what kind of Giver He is and what kind of gifts He gives.

349 – Grumbling or Grateful?

Comments Off on 349 – Grumbling or Grateful? 08 May 2014

When things don’t turn out just as you wanted, do you grumble or are you grateful to God for His blessings in your life? We spend too much of our time fretting that things are not going the way we wanted. Sometimes we miss opportunities to accomplish significant things because of our ingratitude and grumbling spirit. We will look at a story in the Old Testament of two tribes among God’s people, Joseph’s tribes: Ephraim, and Manasseh. They were grumbling about the possession of land and wanted more prestige. They had a misunderstanding about what greatness was. We will learn from them.

346 – Solace through Surrender

Comments Off on 346 – Solace through Surrender 17 April 2014

Most of us would like a little peace and solace in a world of conflict and confusion. Each morning we awake with new hope only to watch the morning news and have our hopes dashed by reports of rising health care costs, a Federal Government out of control, unrest in areas of vital interest to the United States, political bickering between the parties while the debt ticker is running wild on the national debt, the signs of threatened inflation are ever increasing, and millions of us are still without work. How can we find solace in that kind of world we live in? I am finding the answer is where I have always known it to be, in surrender of some key life events to God! That is why I have entitled these remarks, “Solace through Surrender.”

“Redeemed”

The painting in my logo is by an artist named Kelly O'Neill.

If you appreciate excellence in art and are captivated by works that grip your emotions and proclaim the remarkable truths of God’s Word, you will want to know more about the very compelling art piece that is part of my ministry logo.

Kelly O’Neill is a remarkable young artist who very masterfully depicts the compassion, grace, and redeeming love of Jesus Christ in her painting, “Redeemed.” No painting has so grabbed my emotions and stirred my gratitude to Christ for His redeeming love as this one. Technically unparalleled, inspired, heart-stirring, and mind captivating are words I used upon seeing it for the first time.

Getting to know Kelly and the background of her wonderful work have served as great motivators as I launch out on a new ministry path in my own life. Kelly is also the developer of my website.

I commend her and her work to you and encourage you to visit her website www.TheArtistOfLife.com
